Job Overview:

Red Vacuums is seeking a dedicated and skilled Small Appliance Repair Technician who preferably specializes in: Coffee/Espresso, Vacuum, and Sewing Repair to join our team. As a technician at Red Vacuums , you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of small appliances, including espresso/coffee machines, vacuum cleaners, and sewing machines. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring our customers receive top-notch service and high-quality repairs, keeping their appliances running smoothly. Additionally, you'll contribute to store maintenance, inventory management, and answering phone calls when the team is busy, ensuring smooth store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Repair and Maintenance:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with small appliances, including espresso, coffee machines, vacuum cleaners, and sewing machines.
• Perform repairs, adjustments, and part replacements on various small household appliances.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to carry out repairs efficiently and effectively.
• Conduct routine maintenance services to extend the life of appliances.

Quality Control:

• Perform thorough testing after repairs to ensure that appliances are functioning properly.
• Document all repairs and services performed accurately in customer records.

Customer Service:

• Provide exceptional customer service by clearly explaining issues, repair options, and estimated costs to customers.
• Communicate with customers about their appliance status, expected repair times, and any additional recommendations and document all the communications.
• Offer advice and guidance on appliance maintenance to customers.
• Phone Support:
• Answer phone calls when other team members are busy or away, providing timely assistance to customers and addressing inquiries related to services, repairs, and products.

Inventory Management:

• Keep track of parts inventory and order necessary components for repairs.
• Ensure the proper storage and handling of parts and tools.

Store Maintenance:

• Contribute to keeping the store clean, clutter-free and organized, including repair areas and customer-facing spaces.
• Ensure that workstations and tools are cleaned and stored properly at the end of each day.

Workplace Safety:

• Adhere to all safety standards and company protocols while performing repairs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience:
• Proven experience as a technician or repair specialist for small appliances, espresso machines, vacuums, and/or sewing machines.
• Hands-on experience in diagnosing, repairing, and servicing a variety of appliances.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, mechanical parts, and tools commonly used for appliance repair.
• Proficient in reading schematics and performing repairs according to manufacturer guidelines.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and motor-related issues.
• Customer Service Skills:
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly, customer-focused attitude.
• Ability to clearly explain technical issues to customers in simple terms.
• Ability to handle phone calls professionally and efficiently in a busy environment.
• Knowing additional languages is a plus, as it helps in assisting a broader customer base.
• Problem-Solving:
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to identify issues and find effective solutions.
• Attention to Detail:
• Ability to maintain high standards of repair quality and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to the store's overall success.
• Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift and move appliances weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working with tools and machinery for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience in appliance repair, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with industry specific brands or models (e.g., Miele, Dyson, Breville, etc.) is a plus.
• Previous experience in customer-facing roles.
